The Picture Tank knows that a good story well told can truly make a difference in how one sees the world and create awareness of the real issues that shape our lives.

In 2007, The Picture Tank's $600,000 film, The Jammed, became the most talked about Australian film of 2007, winning three Inside Film Awards and nominated for seven AFI's. It shifted awareness of Human Trafficking in Australia and inspired social debate across the country. It is the only film to have screened at the United Nations (NY, Vienna and Geneva) and through worldwide screenings is being used to launch campaigns and inspire individuals to take action.

But the reality is that the film industry is not geared towards a social impact model of film funding and NGO's are restricted in their charter to provide direct support to make films.

Films are the most powerful form of communication today, but they are expensive to develop, produce and distribute.

The truth is it is a struggle to keep going every day, to keep doing what we do.
